i did a whole project in high school surrounding archosaurs (animals whose closest living relative are birds and crocodiles) and visited a place that creates animal models for museums. it’s such a unique field. more people should always know about it.

yesss, there’s a whole community of paleoartists on here, they’re amazing at bringing animals back to life and giving them backstories. how did they live? what’s this fossil’s journey? how do we show that this rock was once a living part of an ecosystem?
oh it’s totally normal to think these thoughts, a good paleontologist does this all the time. it really helps bring the animal back to life y’know?
