Buy log of an amateur DIY investor (taxable brokerage). Invested into an ETF or equity each week is $141 + received dividends. Not investment advice.
Yesterday, I added $STLA to the portfolio for 16 shares @ $9.48.
Limit sell order in place for $19.01 GTC
With my usual $141 contribution and some leftover sales proceeds, bought:
2 shares of $TROW
1 share of $VTRS
1 share of $XRAY
1 share of $WU
Dividend yields are north of 4.30% for each.
Tuesdayโs transactions:
Sells:
4 shares $MGA for $3.29 net profit
Buys:
9 shares of $MNRO
2 shares of $MRK
August dividends totaled $78.98 ๐ค
On my ending value of $9,234.66 โ thatโs an annualized yield of 10.26%.
Been a fun journey so far, learning about monthly paying ETFs, 19-1a notice Return of Capital, & qualified dividends.
Global X liquidated $QDCC ๐ฑ
My investment of $145.05 on 8/05/25 liquidated toโฆ $146.33 ๐คทโโ๏ธ
Added 1 share each of $YBTC, $REYN, and $YMAX.
Initiated positions between $142.23 and $168.05 in each of these equities:
$AEO
$APA
$CTRA
$KFRC
$KMT
$REYN
$SWK
$WGO
The lowest dividend yield among them is 3.7%.
$CRI has a dividend yield of ~3.80%.
25.08.2025 01:05 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0On Friday, I sold down $SDIV to 7 shares ($168.14) and sold out of $SRLN for dividend tax reasons (to hold in ROTH instead).
With sale proceeds, I added 6 shares of $CRI.
Will add more positions tomorrow with remaining proceeds.
Added 5 shares of $CANQ at a yield of ~4.55%.
The 19(a) notice estimates Return on Capital as 32.48%, so I think my tax rate is ~16.20% on the dividends.
Used cash proceeds from yesterday to add:
$CVS, 3 shares
DINO, 3 shares
$DVY, 1 share
$EMN, 3 shares
$MGA, 4 shares
$TGT, 2 shares
$UVV, 3 shares
$VTRS, 14 shares
Aiming for qualified dividends.
Sold $FIRI, $UEVM, $UIVM, & $XCCC today for dividend tax reasons. Going to own them in a retirement account instead.
14.08.2025 01:58 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Also, for dividend tax advantage purposes, sold $RIET and $AAA to invest in $IAUI and $YMAX.
$IAUI pays fluctuating monthly dividends, currently ~12.66%. Cumulative ROC is 89% as of July 2025.
$YMAX pays fluctuating weekly dividends, currently ~57.29%. ROC was 55.86% for week of Aug. 8, 2025.
Added 5 shares of $LKQ for yield-on-cost of 4.04%.
Sold out of $SRET to add 2 shares of $WHR for dividend tax advantage reasons. Every penny counts ๐คทโโ๏ธ
$WHR has a yield-on-cost of 4.21%, including the impact of a recent dividend cut.
Added these by selling a few older positions back down to ~$141:
FGSI - Dividend Equity + Call Options
SCHD - Large Cap Equity Dividend
SDVD - SMid Cap Equity Dividend
SRET - Global REIT
YBTC - Bitcoin Covered Call Options

A few positions are being sold off slowly for tax reasons. More to add.
๐จ Resetting my $8,560 portfolio ๐จ
โฆ to allocations of ~$141 for each unique equity or ETF ๐๐
That means 1 NEW equity or ETF added each Monday by my $141 contribution + re-invested dividends.
$4.70 of divs from $ICLO on Fri.
Added 8 shares of $FIRI today ๐ฅ
Looking at ETF ideas with high % Return of Capital ๐ โ drastically reduces tax drag on dividends.
Purchased 7 shares of $FIRI, a fund-of-funds.
$FIRIโs target annual income is 4% โฆ BUT โฆ it is on pace for dividends of ~13.08% this year.
A downside is it has YieldMax funds - Iโm not a fan ๐
I suspect youโre right; wonโt add to it, TY ๐ Earnings yield (poor quality ๐ฐ) is right at divi. yield. Tariffs might wreck companies w/ payout ratios >100%.
Speculative position on weak dollar and hedging Fed cutting to 1%.
Was considering $GYLD instead, but fear that to be a worse yield trap ๐
Traded away 56 shares of $PFFR ๐ค and added 9 shares of $SDIV + 14 shares of $UIVM.
I prefer foreign assets to domestic assets seeing the YTD trend of a depreciating dollar.

Why? I want to instead invest in monthly dividend payers with high diversification (each portfolio component is ideally less than 2%).
Call it a monthly free lunch? Or a Kelly Criterion play? ๐ค ๐คทโโ๏ธ Anywaysโฆ
Re-invested into $UEVM ๐ค and building a position in $SDIV.

Today, my $141 contribution + received dividends will buy $FGD ๐ค
True insight! Funny too this is my 2nd go โ liquidated the 1st iteration at +$30k a year ago ๐ So dividends feel especially tiny now ๐ Am grateful at least dividends remain possible to be collected & to be on the hedonic treadmill ๐๐คด
