But I also think about how we got here, where there are "gay elements" in kids' movies at all. LGBTQ+ activists & cis-straight allies changed the culture in which movies get made. IT DIDN'T EXIST when my kids (22 & 26) were born. It was spoken into being. So we have to keep speaking.

Nobody's making animated children's movies in which men hook up in a club bathroom or ladies try to make a dental dam work.

What precious few movies *are* doing is introducing the notion that gay is ok. THAT'S the "adult content" that counts as obscene & "forces conversations."

-parental hugs
-driving kids to soccer
-crushes
-other cute stuff

The issue, then, is that this frames same-gendered love as normal & wholly human & that framing threatens the male supremacy (patriarchy) we live in.
