Unless we understand why everything is getting worse, we’ll never fix it. I’ll be talking about how Majority has a plan for a broad progressive alliance to win in Newcastle and start to reverse the rise of the far right and fascism.

Since the financial crash, food banks have proliferated, public services have deteriorated, and our public realm is dilapidated. Centrism was never a plan. It was always the head-in-the-sand absence of a plan.

Centrism has collapsed with astonishing speed. RefUK have taken control in the land of the Durham Miners. The underlying cause to all of this is that Britain is now run in the interests of those who own the wealth, when it should be run in the interests of those who do the work.

What is the future of the left? It’s a year since Labour won the general election, and they’ve thrown disabled people under the bus, cut overseas aid to buy American nuclear armed jets, and abandoned kids to grow up in poverty.

- Listening to people
- Keeping their promises
- Delivering Value for money, and
- Working cross-party.
