Maybe, but the ratings for these Olympics blew away the ratings for the last Olympics.
That said, all the advertising tends to focus on maybe two people. Can you name any of the people who won multiple medals for the USA this year? (Not a gotcha question -- they're just not publicized!)
Jessie Diggins isn't at her best in classic races. She's been dealing with bruised ribs since the first race of her grueling schedule. She just finished a 50k classic in fifth, five seconds off the podium. Legend. Deserves so much more publicity.
Can we dispense with the notion that "ball don't lie"? Ball lies. A lot.
Pity that one of the players whined that "the spirit of curling is dead" while he was holding the bloody knife that killed it.
Never thought I'd see Canadians be the bad guys in any sport, especially curling, but it's been a weird year.
In obvious pain, Svea Irving lands two solid tricks on the halfpipe but has to bail out and just ski down the rest of the way. I'd give her 50 points just for trying -- and they were pretty good tricks! No US medal in women's ski halfpipe.
Case in point: US freestyle skier Svea Irving was injured in her first run. She skipped her second but might be back for her third. A search for Svea Irving picked up nothing from today. (Yes, I sorted by date. Nothing.) I don't have X any more, but I'd bet there are dozens, maybe hundreds there.
Sure, but would search results be governed by an algorithm?
Maybe spitting?
Ref mentors often remind us that it certainly can be.
But I'm still thinking this may have been spitting. The players in the vicinity certainly didn't seem surprised to see red. And spitting is definitely a straight red.
Reminds me of when I interviewed Bob Bradley and found that he had done considerable research on me ahead of time.
Is anyone else just not particularly interested in the World Cup this year? I have no desire to watch Infantino and Trump's extended honeymoon.
Maybe if some #USMNT players had the courage of a Hunter Hess or a Rich Ruohonen, my interest would pick up. Otherwise, it's all MLS and NWSL for me.
I'll echo the "spitting" hypothesis -- I'm reminded of when Christian Gomez was sent off for United, and no one knew why until we saw a replay clearly showing a significant spray.
Does #MLS360 monitor Bluesky?
Possibly the only Canadian athletes the rest of the world was NOT rooting for!
I would've loved for them to swap medals with Homan and company.
Sure -- in some areas, it has attracted a crowd. But is no one on Bluesky watching the Olympics? And when will mainstream sports media realize the audience doesn't want to be on X? (Looking at MLS 360 on Apple TV, for example.)
That too, but more ... something major happens and THREE people have posted about it?
Is Bluesky still so dead that I can check it out nearly 10 minutes after a horrific accident at the Olympics and only three people have posted anything?
What is the point of a medium that has no media on it?
Why?
Not that KC should panic, but I back Berger if this goes to PKs. #KCvGOT #NWSL #NWSLplayoffs
If you’re Gotham at this point, are you trying to kill time and get into PKs with Berger?
I am now 0-2 on my #NWSLPlayoffs picks.
At this point, I’m wondering if any Spirit players will get injured during PKs. #NWSL #WASvLOU
We should just vote on the winner and skip PKs. #NWSL #WASvLOU
Not sure it’s being stressed enough that the Spirit lost two important players *during* this game in addition to having the usual absentees out, including the obviously not-really-available Rodman. This team has dealt with so much. #NWSL #WASvLOU #NWSLplayoffs
This one just feels different.
I think the ref’s watch is broken. #NWSL
McKeown out. Was Audi Field built on a haunted graveyard? #NWSL #NWSLplayoffs #WASvLOU
I’m getting the feeling we won’t be seeing Trinity Rodman. Spirit have a sub window in extra time, don’t they?

I’d argue Esme Morgan shouldn’t have seen yellow unless she dropped a few magic words — dissent should be more than an outburst — and Ary Borges should’ve seen yellow for a cynical foul at midfield. I’m surprised they didn’t take a longer look at the Louisville goal. Generally, though, pretty good.
Looks onside from this view, but I have a small phone, so …
Soccer’s unfair sometimes. In no way, shape or form does Louisville deserve to be level here, and there have been some cynical fouls. But the Spirit have wasted tons of chances, too.

Did she look off to you, or was she kept on by someone in the center?
