Someone in the BAB community posted a bear for sale and then hemmed and hawwed about selling it when I expressed an interest, so I said really explicitly "if you do decide to sell it let me know because I want to buy, I really love this bear" and then they sold it to someone else :(

Success!! The length is just about exactly what I was looking for and can potentially be extended if need be via creative tailoring (adding some kind of accent striping to the shoulder seam or converting to a raglan style shoulder). Next step is remaking hands/arms and making feet.
The manufacturer finished the memorial pins and they look beautiful!
