New working paper with @jakobmolinder.bsky.social, we examine the role of unions in the Great Leveling by comparing two contrasting countries: Sweden and the US. Unions in both countries raised wages and lowered inequality, however, unions were more aggressive in the US where they were much smaller.

super happy that @jakobmolinder.bsky.social and I have been awarded a grant from the Swedish Research Council! It's a three year project called "Top incomes, inequality and economic change: Sweden, 1911–1950" -- the abstract is in the image. I think that this can lead to some interesting research! 🤓
