โ€œThe confirmed 2024/25 pay package will see the maintenance of pay parity with England for Health and Social Care staff covered by the Agenda for Change framework. This involves a large proportion of the overall health service workforce in Northern Ireland.โ€

The Health Minister has approved payment of the full 12 months of the Health and Social Care (HSC) and Medical and Dental pay deals.

The Health Minister welcomed the appointment of Mike Farrar as interim Permanent Secretary of the Department of Health.

Minister Nesbitt also paid tribute to the retiring current Permanent Secretary Peter May.

The Health Minister welcomed the NI Assemblyโ€™s support for Northern Irelandโ€™s inclusion in the UK Tobacco and Vapes Bill.

Minister Nesbitt said the bill would "save lives" and reduce pressure on health services.
