Several scientists have received letters from the NIH director disinviting them from their positions on advisory councils that make final decisions on grant funding, I'm told.

In July, I reported that NIH staff were told to select members aligned with Trump administration priorities.

We are still recruiting for a postdoc for my lab! This person will play a key role in a new R01 optimizing a self-guided digital intervention for #eatingdisorders. There will be ample opportunities for publishing, contributing to grants, mentoring, etc. Apply by 10/31 for priority consideration.

I think you have to submit to PMC right away though?

I basically just said it was untenable & it seemed like if we were going to require immed submission to PMC then the govt would need to enter into negotiations with the major academic publishers to solve this (we can't both limit $ for publishing & require investigators to pay fees to meet mandate)

This is a link to policy: grants.nih.gov/grants/guide... I think preprints are fine. The issue is, I think, the requirement to submit accepted paper to PMC immediately & certain publishers, as I understand it, like Wiley not allowing that unless you pay OA charge; they want to maintain 12 mo embargo
