Yes it is impressively a large issue with lots of papers!!

13.10.2025 19:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I have something about measurement but it's about measurement of emotion dysregulation/use of DERS. But similarly there are definitely issues with measurement and possible shortcomings about measuring the constructs we think we are measuring.

07.10.2025 01:21 β π 9 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0As I wrote another manuscript review about how the authors didn't actually measure what they purported to measure, and toggled the rating from major revision to reject, I couldnβt help but wonder: have I become the disgruntled reviewer 2?
05.10.2025 20:37 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I donβt understand how they can get away with this?
03.10.2025 00:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is extortion. Faculty, students, staff, alumni across the country need to get to their Presidents & Trustees today. Just say no. This blackmail only works if most everyone folds. Capitulation now means the end of American higher education for a generation. www.nytimes.com/2025/10/02/u...

And how irresponsible, using the podium of the WH to put this out there when youβre not even offering an alternative. That is dangerous. An untreated fever is dangerous. Untreated pain in pregnancy is dangerous.

13.08.2025 02:03 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0research papers now too often (a) collect highly complex data, (b) engage in heavy-handed pre-processing to measure constructs, and (c) pile on multiple layers of statistical estimation.
as a rule of thumb, I think a paper is much clearer when at most one of these is likely to raise eyebrows imho.
