So sad to hear about Catherine O’Hara’s death today. She was an amazing actor and so, so funny. I think we can all agree that Moira brightened up the darkest of days. An amazing Canadian too.

I don’t want to hear anything from an elected official unless it’s a plan to defund the DHS and impeach Noem, Bovino, etc. No texts. No emails. No talk about the economy. Step up or step off.

Reminder: All it would take to end the murder of American citizens by an untrained government goon squad is 16 Republicans in Congress voting with Dems to defund ICE (or 23 to impeach and remove Trump — 3 in House & 20 in Senate). Update: the editor sent a nice message and we all agreed to reject the revision!

I should add show clips to my mood induction collection.

Just reviewed a revision - the authors used gen AI and made up a new intro and references (roughly 20). First noticed that the text strayed from study’s purpose, then I noticed that all of the new refs were from 2024 or 2025 (implausible), then I started to look up refs to find they don’t exist.

For a moment the preview of the p value made it look like p = 5.64.

An issue we're seeing at all levels of university is that many students are simply refusing to do *anything*. They aren't reading the syllabus, aren't following assignment guidelines, aren't engaging with material, ignoring deadlines. And this might seem like old news, but it truly has ramped up.
