So I get annoyed when artists mock people who lament their inability to get into art.

I actually completely understand people who struggle with art, because often they aren't really sure what the process is or how to get "into it". It's like me with music, I have no idea how to get into process. I mostly know the process w/ writing but it's often intimidating so I don't try it.

Everything about art is just fun to me. I love reading about it, I love taking pictures for references, even if forget them often LOL, I love keeping notes about ideas that might be cool, I love figuring out what techniques I like and what techniques I struggle with

I guess because I always enjoyed drawing as an activity. So even if I want to improve and try and learn, I don't see the end result as the only merit to drawing. I love collecting thousands of images in different organized folders by subject (foliage, rending, etc.) and find it fun and inspiring.

so while I did mention a couple days ago I really only compare metrics as a loose reflection of my skills as an artist, I have never had the problem of being discouraged from drawing from seeing good art. It's alien to me, it only makes me want to draw more because it fills me with joy.

Despite the contemporary belief, I do fully believe having genuinely good and engaging art is enough to bring in people. So when I see my numbers ""lacking"" in comparison to peers my thought is always what's lacking in my art. Bit by bit I am figuring out but it's so slow...
