No, of course not. I think the most recent criticism comes from a video where the speaker describes rights that undocumented folks have. But being innocent of the charge is completely irrelevant in this atmosphere. Wanton cruelty toward any who support immigrants is the rule.

I get that you're working a whole book so asking you to simplify too much is unfair but can you say a little more about the political economy of Advent?

I think there should be a Catholic equivalent to Godwin's Law but for silk and lace. Those sorts of arguments are never in good faith.

Which is why several of the folks that I respect but don't necessarily agree with all the time that used to work for National Review no longer do.

I *think* I agree with you, but I'll say it's a much closer call than say 15 or 20 years ago. I think the publication has changed dramatically and while it obviously has a storied reputation in the conservative world, that reputation is highly tarnished.

I leave the question of blocking NR to others but despising Matt Gaetz is bipartisan. The founder of the Federalist has said much worse of him than this and I... don't have a lot of respect for The Federalist (I cleaned up some crass metaphors I wanted to use there...).

But Jane, the MAGA movement has been quite clear about the rampant threat of pedophiles in positions of importance in this country. Surely after all of that (PizzaGate, Epstein, etc.), in a show of how serious they were, everyone will stand with one voice and remain true. Surely!
