From the book:

"Bother!' said Rabbit, "He's gone out."
He went back to the green front door, just to make sure, and he was turning away, feeling that his morning had got all spoilt, when he saw a piece of paper on the ground. And there was a pin in it as if it had fallen off the door.
"Ha!" said Rabbit, feeling quite happy again.
"Another notice!".
This is what it said:
GON OUT
BACKSON
BISY
BACKSON C.R.
"Ha!" said Rabbit again, "I must tell the others". And he hurried off importantly.
The nearest house was
Owl's, and to Owl's House in the Hundred Acre Wood he made his way.*

From the book.

Owl from the Original Ernest Shepard illustrations of Winnie the Pooh. He is holding a note in his hand that says
“Gon out. Backson. Bizy Bacson”

Hey yall. I got a new phone and forgot my log-in email for this account. Working with @bsky.support on getting back in so I turned on the old phone to post this.
Pics will go up on my other account till I can log back in here.

3 tiny white mushrooms. Possibly Bark Bonnets. Some kind of bonnrt. Or possibly Oak Leaf Pinewheels. I can’t tell if they’re growing from the leaf or from the wood. Zoom out of previous photo with pen tip for scale. In this one I can tell they’re growing from the wood.
Pen point is .38mm. Two tiny orange colored Mycena in the duff. Same mushrooms with the pen point for scale

4 shots of the same view of a cluster of tiny upside down gray mushrooms on the bottom of a log. They’re amorphous and the gills are mazelike. Pictures go from closup to panned out. Photo 3 has a pen tip for scale. The whole cluster is about an inch long. Post image Post image Post image

Zoom-out of some of my favorite tiny mushrooms. Same shot starting close & moving away. Genus Resupinatus probably #MushroomMonday #fungifriends #sporepunk 📷🍄

Four photos of tiny red fuzzy slime mold, genus Arcyria. May or may not be Carnival Candy slime mold. In the fourth picture is a tiny glass snail and the side of my fingertip for scale. Fuzzy tiny red blobs on short stems. Same red fuzzy blobs from a different angle Fuzzy red blobs and a teeny Glass Snail next to my fingernail which looks enormous

If I ever get out of bed I’m going slime mold hunting.
This is Arcyria I found behind the bus stop on Wednesday.

And I found more in my two months in Eugene than here, though I’m told it has to do with a certain amount of rainfall.
This year has been good for witches hats and what seem to be scarlet waxcaps. Have yet to see a parrot mushroom around here. Too much green stuff growing…

Large stereum cluster. Also has concentric bands of color and is ripply. “Curly” fan shaped stereum mostly reds & orange Back side of stereum is smooth; stereum is a crust fungus with neithee gills or pores. I don’t have the science to explain how it spores. Stereum colony being consumed by a golden ear fungus, which is also a look-alike for Witches Butter jelly fungus

Not turkeytails. Stereum. More ripply…📷🍄 #sporepunk #fungfriends #mushrooms

Pretty sure that is leocarpus. Ironically, I found my best sample on the side of the road in Eugene on a piece of fir. And we’re having a terrible winter for slimes in NorCal. Getting lots of hygrocybes, tho!

North Carolina tuberculosis cases are on the rise for the first time in decades Cases of the world’s deadliest infectious disease have been increasing in the U.S. in recent years

tuberculosis outbreaks in Kansas, North Carolina & Ohio.

CDC aren’t permitted to update the public & people are not being advised of the risk or told to mask.

There’s evidence that COVID causes immune system damage which could lead TB to reactivate.

A respirator prevents both Covid & TB. Mask up!

Small “rope” of lace lichen, looks like gray/green tangled hair A larger fall of lace lichen. Greenish grayish dangling masses hanging from the trees. Often mistaken for “Spanish moss”

For #LichenFriday we have the California State Lichen. It’s really hard to photograph #LaceLichen #LazyLichen #fungifriends #sporepunk #lichen

Tiny white mushroom on underside of a small log. Probably a species of mycena. Samr mushroom with my fingernail for scale. They’re about the same length.

For #WeeWednesday I didn’t have time to go for a hike today so I crawled around behind the bus stop. This was the only mushroom I found. 📷🍄 #fungifriends #sporepunk

Asking again if you do or do not welcome unsolicited identification. Since this isn’t iNaturalist I can’t assume we’re open to possibly misidentifying something. So I try not to unless it’s likely to kill you.
