Watching so many people I know get trolled by Trump-loving old friends and family, I now know exactly how the average german would turn in their neighbours for hiding a jewish person.

Trump has turned brother against brother.

My nana was full gospel, same thing. At 6 years old, I was having nightmares due to their bible / church teachings, which they thought they'd cure by laying of hands to cast out the demons, which involved a lot of speaking in tongues and rolling on ground. It didn't help. 🤣

I saw someone refer to Trump's style of speaking as "Moronic pentameter". I'll have to mentally bookmark that for future usage. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Agree - unfortunately though many Leftists I knew were saying they thought that Trump was going to create peace (in a non violent way).

This one is the biggest "I told you so" moment yet, I can't even when it comes to this. Yes, Democrat support of genocide was bad, but Trump will be worse and he'll probably put up a casino afterwards.

Anyway, I was wondering if ya'll have or had the same asymmetry in the relationships with Trumpers, where they did drive-by opinion dumps in your comments including laugh emojis and making insulting statements, and you either rarely comment or didn't at all on their posts.

I figured that basically I wasn't likely to change their views anyhow, so I limited to extreme misinformation, like them posting a ridiculous conspiracy that just didn't make sense - eg Trudeau being Castro's son, and asking them if they were serious or just trolling.

When I had a few right wing nut friends, I almost never posted on theirs.

Hell no. We weathered 2008 far better than the USA because our banking system was separate, and well regulated -- and trump has stated he wishes to deregulate the US system further including breaking up the FDIC which insures people's accounts.

Doing it for the lulz can lead to irony poisoning, where something that was previously considered wrong becomes a joke, and slowly because it is no longer taken seriously people become desensitized, and what was once a joke becomes a belief for those same people.

Of course they are gaslighting now - but unless they are very very stupid, they know what it was, and they knew he did it for the lulz -- to troll the Libs.

But doing it for the lulz is still wrong.

I have no doubt considering Elon's online behaviour, that his salute was just trolling. The first reaction of almost all the conservative viewers of Elon's Nazi salute was to either cheer or laugh.

Many right wingers think it is a game to own the libs. In some ways that is worse than actually being a racist. This means that they would employ something as vile and antihuman as nazi symbolism for something as trivial as annoying people.

Remember how the right claimed that masks were an obedience test? The right just floated a real one, straight out of 1984. They have told people not to believe what they saw with their own eyes, and their followers are repeating it like the little slaves that they are.

Don't worry, if she is able to push through the coal policy and the Grassy Mountain Coal Project gets built, most of the ranching & farmers in Alberta will be done with anyhow.

The four horsemen of conservatism: Devolution (Passing the responsibilities to lower levels of government), Privatization, Deregulation, Reduction (Cuts).

Seems fiscally conservative of them, not like having blind seniors to take care of is more expensive than taking care of glaucoma exams.
This is why I will always reject fiscal conservatism over fiscal responsibility.
Fiscal Conservatism is short sighted, greedy and does nothing to benefit society.

So, with Danielle Smith's latest changes to health care, if my glaucoma changes again in my senior years and I need frequent exams to keep it in check, I'll have to pay money for that, or just let my eyeball explode and go blind. Meanwhile the UCP just gave themselves raises again.

The right has more allegiance to party than to freedom and democracy, even of their own people.

I think the reason why some Trumpers are such poor winners regarding the election and are still raging about the Libs is that they expected the Libs to just roll over when Trump won and are confused and angry that they didn't - because that means the libs don't their recognize power.
