This is a thought for like 40 people, but:

Bryan Voltaggio is the Philip Rivers of Top Chef.

And he has the 9th-most receiving yards in the league over that span.

I was trying to do this exact thing about 20 minutes and predictably couldn't figure out how.

On today's Athletic Football Show, @qbklass.bsky.social and @davehelman.bsky.social joined me to run through the big news items from the first week of training camp.

Including how Travis Hunter is spending his time β€” and what that means for the Jags plans.

One of my all-time favorite fat kid moves was putting peanut butter on an Oreo, so this is a troubling development.

Our old foster dog Bonnie got reunited with her brother recently, and it was legitimately one of the most heart-warming things I've ever witnessed in my life.

Really fun episode today with special guest Bobby Peters

Robert, Bobby and myself went through some of the lessons we learned from the best offense in the league in 2024, and how that might spin forward to 2025

On today's Athletic Football Show, @qbklass.bsky.social and @davehelman.bsky.social joined me to predict what the 2025 versions of 2024's defining storylines will be.

Early training camp vibes check, from day 1 at practices:

This Lions season may come down to whether the power of Tate Ratledge’s dirtbag aesthetic can overcome the downgrade from Jahmyr Gibbs’ move to no. 0. It’s just not a running back number. Can’t support it.

20.07.2025 14:40 β€” πŸ‘ 68    πŸ” 5    πŸ’¬ 8    πŸ“Œ 2

I've always treated the start of training camp as the unofficial kickoff of the podcast "season," and this year is no different.

We're here, and I can already tell you our plans for The Athletic Football Show this year are bigger than ever. Some seriously exciting stuff coming soon.

Today, @qbklass.bsky.social joined me for the final Athletic Football Show mailbag of the 2025 offseason.

Who's more cursed, the Vikings or Chargers?
What are the best NFL what-ifs of the decade?
What is Zac Taylor, REALLY?

That's the part I'm most upset with, honestly.

17.07.2025 18:35 β€” πŸ‘ 14    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I'd also challenge anyone who's ever listened to Derrik talk about Sam Darnold to look at that graphic and conclude that honorability in this sense is inherently a good thing.

17.07.2025 17:58 β€” πŸ‘ 57    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 4    πŸ“Œ 0

This was a completely frivolous exercise aimed at explaining a jokey term used on the podcast.

And scrambling has nothing to do with being "honorable" in this completely stupid, made-up sense.

In lieu of a QB ranking with plenty of consensus near the top, on today's Athletic Football Show we drilled down on a more specific question:

Who is the 6th-best QB in the NFL?

A discussion on a fluid, fascinating collection of guys 6-16ish.

On the same day Queen Bea was adopted, we got to see our first foster Bonnie reunite with her brother Clyde. I can't describe how rewarding that morning was. If you're thinking about fostering, I encourage you to do it. It's tough to let them go, but it's unbelievably fulfilling.
