I have many things to sayβmost of which I should keep to myself.

So Republicans want Democrats to pass their funding bill now, on the promise that health care for millions will be negotiated in good faith later? π
Mike Johnson and John Thune have had plenty of time to compromise. Itβs not like theyβve been busy representing average Americans.
Conservative states, dependent on federal redistribution, presume to dictate terms to the very liberal states that fund the nation.
Thatβs not balanceβitβs an abusive relationship funded by 21st-century taxation without representation.
Itβs time to show them that two can play at βstatesβ rights."
We now live in a country in which people were fired from their jobs because they quoted Charlie Kirk directly while a Fox News host openly called for killing homeless ("unhoused"... ugh) people and got barely a slap on the wrist.
I give up.
Individual liberty is the cornerstone of American democracy. Without it, only authoritarianism is possible. Just as Occam's Razor suggests the simplest explanation tends to be correct, I hold that the system of governance with the fewest appeals to external authority will best serve our interests.
14.09.2025 14:58 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A government shutdown is imminent. Mike Johnson's party controls all branches but has failed to pass bipartisan funding bills. It's time to represent average Americans: dial back billionaire tax cuts and stop the plan to gut affordable healthcare.
13.09.2025 15:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Just split it somehow and let me know where to relocate to before it's too late.
10.09.2025 23:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Now Missouri too?!
Enough! NY, CA, IL, etc.βrecall your reps from D.C. and cut off federal tax revenue. If extremist states want to impose their failures, they can do it without your tax dollars.
Iβd bet real money Texas switches teams once the failed states start circling it like hungry wolves.
A diagram is concentric circles representing US Federalism. A large circle representing Individual Liberty, a smaller circle within representing States' Rights, and a smaller circle within representing Federal Powers.
To clarify recent debates at SCOTUS, I created a job aide. Whether itβs abortion access or trans care for minors with parental consentβitβs about respecting liberty! Making individual liberties subject to the whims of either state legislatures or DC without compelling justification is tyrannical.
05.12.2024 17:57 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0On the one hand, organized religion is a system of control and oppression. On the other hand, this guy looks demon possessed.
02.12.2024 22:41 β π 55 π 1 π¬ 14 π 3Remind me β do we care about a convicted felon's thoughts regarding justice?
02.12.2024 22:31 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Newsflash, Marjorieβwhen you say "their money," you are referring to liberal tax revenue from liberal states which your party redistributes to federally-dependent states such as your own. It's time that Dems stop screwing around and show the GOP the power of the purse.
24.11.2024 18:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I grew up in northern NH and moved to Boston and then Tampa Bay once I reached adulthood. Rural New England was pretty tolerant, etc. back in the 90s and is still better than the rural southern states, but the "Trumpification" of rural America has spread everywhere like cancer.
20.11.2024 16:26 β π 5 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Wealthy, urban, liberal-leaning states like California and New York pay more in federal taxes, while rural, conservative-leaning states like Mississippi and Kentucky receive more in federal aid. Effectively, urban areas subsidize rural areas via federal redistribution.
20.11.2024 05:02 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My favorite is local politicians (in FL) with lines like "the most important thing to know about me is that I'm an evangelical". π€£

19.11.2024 21:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes! And it doesn't end in 2 months. We must be vigilant in identifying unconstitutional acts or unreasonable infringements on individual liberty, and we must be prepared to address them.
19.11.2024 21:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0MAGA hypocrisy has no limits.
19.11.2024 17:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is vile. If your taxes are not for funding birth control, mine are not for indoctrinating children into your cult.
19.11.2024 16:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0It isn't just about messaging. The Left must wield its power more effectivelyβto defend liberty, public education, compassion, and tolerance. Gaslighting is MAGA's only true power.
19.11.2024 14:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Has she considered giving not being a hateful wretch a try? It might engender more positivity in her life than shamelessly pandering to the patriarchy.
19.11.2024 14:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes! Democratic leadership (and any other liberty-minded people) need to organize openly and set clear boundaries with Trump. They need to make it clear that liberty will not be sacrificed at the altar to his ego.
19.11.2024 05:22 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0No fear, no furyβaction. Organize, assemble, form coalitions. When Trump and his sycophants inevitably violate the constitution (whether or not the partisan US Supreme Court acknowledges it), nullify that crap in liberal strongholds and cut off federal funding.
18.11.2024 22:08 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I β€οΈ him.
18.11.2024 21:48 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Agreed! I don't care what motivated them. A vote for Trump is a vote for more than half of the country to be treated as second-class citizens. They are complicit.
18.11.2024 20:09 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0MAGA assumes that it can act with impunity and that the left will always kowtow to it. I look forward to the day that ceases to be true.
