idk man i know i’m the god only knows how many person to say this but don’t be AI’s little advertising agent. they’ve got plenty of billions of dollars to convince us they aren’t pointless. they dont need newspapers or regular ppl to carry water for them

ppl sit in classrooms while college professors help them understand why great pieces of literature are so powerful. if you showed most people seven straight lines of shakespeare they’d be like “uhh ok this means nothing to me.” that doesn’t mean he wasn’t brilliant or a robot could have done his job

*opens a page of an old book*

“do you think this is better than this AI paragraph?”

what are you doing? like why are you doing that? the point you’re proving is that the humanities are so underfunded and undervalued that ppl don’t know what good writing looks like, not that AI should write books

i would argue smart brevity style managed to thread the needle of not actually being easier to read while still making people less inclined to read normal paragraphs

i think the axios smart brevity ppl did an unknown degree of damage to society and they also got pretty rich writing a book about it and selling it to idiot businesses

yeah i’m sure there will be games where crosby makes the ravens look terrifying but it’s a pretty big gamble affecting lamar’s title window

08.03.2026 15:31 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

you can be good for select games and be worth a second round value if you’re good enough during those games. you gotta be good for basically every game and never get injured to be worth two firsts

08.03.2026 15:09 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

i could talk myself into the argument that trading a second rounder so josh allen can have DJ moore is wiser than trading two first rounders for maxx crosby

THREAD: I got laid off from NYMag/Vulture after 14 years. The family lost 75% of income + medical. Now mzs.press bookstore, once a side project. is do-or-die for Judith & I. I feel weird telling you this because others are doing much worse. But if you could like or share this, we'd be so grateful!

well there you go. seems like a terrible person….generally feel like I run into a lot more drinkers talking about how deep isbell’s sobriety songs are bc they project a lot of poetic romanticism onto that life. sober ppl still have fun and like a back beat 🤷‍♂️

i mean i imagine you are much better than “1/2 as good” at writing as me and i can confidently say i am not half as good at photography as you…but thank you for the kind words
