When parents synchronise with their children, this relates positively to children's self regulation in the classroom. However the positive relationship was only visisble in relaxed but not in stressed parents. Great talk by Tose Akinmola-Milone at #SPR2025

Myth busting at #EPSY2025: kids' screen use before bedtime does not affect melatonin levels, the "blue light myth" is busted by Carolin Konrad. There are many screen time recommendations which make strong claims based on very weak evidence - something worth considering!

Great first day at #DUCOG2025! Looking forward to presenting our results on neural and behavioural mechanisms of social conventions tomorrow. We studied social interactions between strangers in real life and found that emotional expressions played a surprisingly small role.

Coregistration of EEG and eye-tracking in infants: check out our new recommendations for tips and tricks on making it work link.springer.com/article/10.3...

For this study it was very useful that we combined gaze measures and EEG because brain and gaze measures diverged. We don't always look where we pay attention #coregistrationForTheWin

The paper shows that infants inhibit gaze to strangers even if their neural responses show that they are attentive to / interested in the stranger. The same pattern we find in adults.
