All that's bad, but it can never be as bad as Bob is at his day job.
He is absolutely useless at representing the people in his electorate.

The post WWII years showed us what could be done
If we don't do that again (minus the racism and misogyny), yes we are headed for illiberal, authoritarian rule
Neo-liberal market based systems don't work and governments have to get back to doing their job
...Making decisions and allocating resources

I think the whole world is dissatisfied with bau.
Neo-liberalism has clearly had its day.
However, the alternative cannot be fascism.
The piece you posted frames the problem as old style deep state V new strong man leadership.
I think the alternative is 1940's 60's style democratic socialism.

There is nothing clear-eyed about that piece.
The framing of the tensions between Trump et al, and Europe as some kind of battle between strong leadership and old world, deep state bureaucracy is complete bollocks.
It's an appeal to fascism as an alternative to neo-liberalism.
Neither good options.

Generations of American patriots, from our revolution onward, have fought for the principles Zelenskyy is risking his life to defend. But today, Donald Trump and JD Vance attacked Zelenskyy and pressured him to surrender the freedom of his people to the KGB war criminal who invaded Ukraine.

What does Elon Musk believe? The man given free rein by Trump to crusade against the federal government supported Democrats until 2022. But some of Musk’s longstanding positions lead a straight line to his far-right sympathies

He just needs to pop on a bit of lipstick, and he will feel better.
My pronouns are f*ck/musk.

It is so much more than a step back in time.
This will help unlock the very worst of toxic masculinity and racism.
Makes me feel ill.

Race is a construct, and it is never acceptable.
I think it is a construct that is always used to divide people... and it's always cruel.
I think we should judge people who are racist or flirt with racism because they are evil, cruel people.
I also think there is only one race, the human race.

I reckon they are getting little warm tingles in their mean bits.
Aww, just look at them together.

The thing is, the LNP wants this fight
They want race to be an issue because they know there are enough racists in the population to make a difference.
They also need to be a little unclear about their racism.
Norms be like, "Did they really mean that?"
Racists be like, "That's what I'm saying!"

I don't see a change of heart. I see a twisted and sickening false equivalent designed to distort the truth and stoke division.
Greens are a bit annoying, nazis vote LNP.

Such a good piece. I cannot really come to terms with how rare it is in journalism that Musk's action are being recognised for what they are. Few things have scared me more than seeing widespread active efforts to rationalise and deny Musk's expression of Nazi bigotry, in mainstream media

All that money, and arse kissing, I wonder if he has been promoted up from being "that red-haired weirdo from Australia"
...Probably not.

Gina is in though, definitely Donald's type, ...and he just loves the ladies. ❤️

Pin this, save it, we’ll need it.

“When a prison camp opens in your town…when a DREAMer is disappeared from your classroom…when the President destroys what’s left of the Constitution…They will all say they didn’t know this was coming. And I want the American people to know that they did.”

AFR: oNly WaY AfTer yEarS of WarNInG

This makes my blood boil. There is very, very little that makes me as mad as the supine weakness of politicians in this country when it comes to 'gas shortage'. This is state capture. Pure and simple. Another gift left by John 'children overboard' Howard #auspol

Time’s up? LNG imports destined for Australia next year After years of warnings, importing gas looks to be the only way left to head off an energy shortfall in Victoria, a move likened to “importing sand to the Sahara”.

Yes you read that right - Australia is looking to IMPORT gas in 2026 - a move likened to “importing sand to the Sahara”

If you are looking for a compelling example of how the major parties have failed us - this is it.

Higher or more efficient supply is a better solution, less cruel.
More even distribution of resources is another solution.
Innovation in the use of resources helps, too.
One of the worst solutions is to be deliberately cruel by forcing people into poverty in order to reduce demand.

Modern Monetary Theory (#MMT) explains money is created by govt, not tax "revenue" or "borrowing." Govts do not round up gold before they can spend.

Inflation is controlled by managing economies, not superstitiously spending too little or raising rates to harm the economy and "cut demand."

The ABC is failing the nation. I have watched and listened to the ABC nearly all of my 49 years.

I have never known a time with such selective truth seeking, normalisation of evil and ineptitude and supporting an opposition leader.

The Board is a national disgrace.
