Writing prompt towards action!
⏲️ 20 mins to start. Let’s go!

EPISTEMICIDE: destruction of a knowledge system by killing, silencing, or devaluing it.

How have we seen it?
How do we stop it?
If we can’t, how do we disrupt?
If we can’t, how can we slow it?
If not that, how do we keep others safe?

Thanks, but hard pass.
Among several other reasons: I purposely let my phone die out for some peace and quiet.

Reject the leash, become ungovernable. πŸ˜†

I was going to give a horror writing prompt, but (according to the algorithm) there’s a toe video going around, or something.

I think you’ve had enough horror today.
Go drink some water, get some eye bleach.

Here. Have mine.

Opinion | I, Human (Gift Article) We know who we are, at least in part, by finding the words β€” messy, imprecise, unexpected β€” to tell others, and ourselves, how we see the world.

This time the robots have gone too far. (A few words about James Dickey, Isaac Asimov, and a nearly 40-year-old memory about writing a poem. Gift link via @nytopinion.nytimes.com.) www.nytimes.com/2025/02/24/o...

Today’s #Writing Prompt: ⏲️ Take 10.
Describe a setting that’s invigorated you, using as many sensory details as you can recall. An extra one: consider your gut/instincts.

How did you find yourself there?
What things about it energized you?

(Work off a pic if it helps! Here’s mine for today ⬇️)

Never be afraid to write your heart out. To write your ass off. To write until your hands cramp. Because when you look back at the miles of ink behind you you might just have a masterpiece.

Kendrick Lamar's Superbowl performance is why funding arts and humanities matters. We have Kendrick because his teacher introduced him to poetry and writing.

I feel like they’re right in calling it out, but the reasoning is off: BHOtR has been/is being co-opted and sanitized by white nationalist movements.

Recontextualizing the song disrupts its power & historical record as a song of protest, abolition, and action. Appropriation’s a strategy.

I like trains... though there are issues there, too. Roomette’s the way to go, if you can treat yourself. Good privacy, good writing/relax space. Great dining cart.

… I took a typer, to absolutely no one’s surprise.
