These are questions that I'm just blurting out as I write, and they probably has a simple answer that I'm missing in between the lines. It's fun to try and understand these concepts after years of using them so casually.

It's ephemeral and lives inside your screen, but you decide how much of an impact it does on your physical life or way to perceive the world. Is everything "virtual" art by nature? Nothing is absolute, so it mustn't be. Where's the line, then? We get to draw it ourselves?

And how might it translate from the philosophy to the more internet-based concept of "virtual"?

When you have a virtual avatar, you interact as it, you're intrinsecally connected to your and it's pressence, yet it only exists when perceived or interacted with it.

I wonder how this works for pictoric art? Since it's not time-based, how does the dimension of virtuality happen? The impact felt on a piece of art that resonates, either positively or negative to an amount of degrees, surely must create a sense of time as well.

I find interesting the fact that every art has the possibility to trascend time as a virtual entity and creating time within themselves by projecting themselves onto us, either expanding it or compressing it.

Carmello Saitta puts it like this in his article "Construction of Time in the Temporary Arts":

Think of it as the reflection of you on a mirror, or a body of water: it exists because we (physical) are looking at, and through, the medium (transmitter) and it gives back a projection of ourselves (the virtual entity).
