Big moment for Europe: in December, fully electric cars outsold petrol-only cars in the EU for the first time.

This shows that clear, consistent policy works. Which is exactly why backtracking now would be a mistake. Rolling back targets or creating uncertainty would slow investment and innovation.

The chaos of the current energy system has resulted in the highest #energy bills in Europe.

We need to look at countries like France and begin to plan to own our own energy. Only then, can the ever-bulging profits currently going to shareholders, be used to keep bills down.

Grid bottlenecks aren’t a failure of the energy transition — they’re proof it’s working.

Renewables got cheap fast, and now the grid has to catch up. Time to build the wires for the clean energy system we already have.

The Times are suffering confirmation bias - the Green economy is motoring on, it’s the only game in town actually - the new industrial revolution…..and Britain can be 100% powered by the wind and sun - and have lower bills.

Despite months of febrile Budget speculation my first reflections are…this was fair and reasonable.
I’ll pay more because we have an EV but I gain with continued triple lock pension and reduced energy bills - net gain.
Still think there should be a Wealth Tax for super-rich though

Renewables routinely generate more than half of U.K electricity.
