Waking to a Reform victory was genuinely scary prospect: emboldening the worst of the right (including in Labour, sadly). Even tougher ‘rhetoric’ on people of colour, LGBTQ folk, people seeking asylum, disabled people. Words which hurt, embolden bigots and which become harmful policy.
