This video is doing the rounds online, and does a much better job of selling the government's infrastructure plans than they have (the comments are revelatory tbh).
Why isn't Keir Starmer constantly walking around wearing a hardhat with "Rebuilding Britain" on it?

What would make this a lot easier - newspaper websites having accurate lists of stockists.
Surely not *that* hard to disintermediate the info?

I was talking to some of the kids and apparently it all kicked off when kids from rival schools saw each other in the queue and started lobbing fruit at each other, which they said was particularly because of "stuff on WhatsApp and TikTok", so I'm calling it the first flashpoint of The School Wars

The Met saying there have been no incidences linked to the "school wars' meme is a worrying oversight, considering they were called to a scuffle between schools on the Walworth Road last week.
It's not a huge deal, but come on lads, you were *there* (eventually)
Sombre Marseillaise is always darkly funny.

At least I won't have to change the big musical number

I'm already working on our Billy Elliot.
It's the story of a tiny lad who doesn't want to work down the powerpoint mines in Soho, and just wants to escape to Newcastle and be an electrician
This comes from having a lunch pint with an old colleague who'd been made redundant and has just started a new job... only to find out there's an immediate round of redundancies.
It's the same everywhere. The whole industry is sinking and no one's talking about it outside the pub.
If a biz or econ journalist wants an easy story, no one's talking about how the advertising industry currently feels like being a miner in the 1980s.
It's just that no one is noticing because nobody's claiming the dole, and everyone on LinkedIn's pretending to be a freelancer or a "fractional CMO"
You could perhaps broaden this further, because no one in business has time to think either, which explains... a lot

I'm doing cultural works, so it will have to be a great album of K-pop (it is entirely possible one exists, I just can't name a single K-pop album)

I think a lot of "culture is dead" discourse is because people are looking for it in 20th century places like art and film, which are both fairly stagnant at the moment.
Imo culture isn't dead at all, people are just looking in the wrong places
Was trying to think of the greatest cultural works of the 21st century so far, and immediately thought of Andor and Red Dead Redemption 2, which:
1) Obviously reflects personal biases
2) Still says something quite interesting about what "culture" is now, and how it's different to the last century
Say what you like about imperial China, but at least someone with this level of education would be overseeing a canal being dug or something
