Yes, the kit comes with two flat, circular plastic caps in white for the ends of the can that you can paint however. The beer can was found at a thrift store just a few miles from home... I had to bring the car's chassis with me so I could figure out which vintage can would actually fit on the car!

I've dragged my feet for 2 years on this project but it's finally done. This is a Walthers kit from 1978 that turns a beer can into a tank car! While it's not perfect... and it's actually too wide for the club layout, I'm glad to build and own this rare model train piece!

Holy heck, I ***ADORE*** this sort of scenario where the prey is mostly vored but still being fattened up!

A half-completed Walthers kit from 1978 that allows modelers to mount a can of their choice (from the 1970s, which are a much smaller size than today's cans) to a diecast chassis. I painted the main frame black and the trucks silver to contrast against the bright silver Heineken can I scored at a thrift store. The can is not mounted to the frame just yet, only the stirrups and trucks are mounted to the frame.

@interurbanera.bsky.social do you know anyone who can reverse engineer an out of production kit? I'm planning on building this Walthers beer can tank car from 1978... but maybe someone may want to recreate this kit to work with modern cans. I also scanned the instructions for fun and preservation.

Zito Yellow was a good idea for safety through visibility, but it aged horribly. Only 1 SD50 (7004) and 2 SD60s (8017 and 8029) were repainted into the better looking "Old Yellow."

Seems normal to me.
