Picked this up at Hop Stop this evening and it’s absolutely fantastic!

Heading to Exeter tomorrow and looking forward to drinking some lovely @teamutopian.bsky.social beers at their city centre bar, Arcadia. I’ll be chatting with owner Rich and Head Brewer Jeremy, plus the brilliant @atjbeer.bsky.social, and you’ll be able to hear our conversation on the next episode!
Two end-of-week beers at Hop Stop this evening, from Fuerst Wiacek and Anspach & Hobday.
Finally we reached the “finish line” at the Pilgrim Brewery Taproom, where I split my pint into two halves - Longhorn, their gorgeous Brown Ale, and Saracen, a lovely Nitro stout!
All done and got the T-shirt!!

Penultimate stop on the Pilgrim Ale Trail 2026 was The Blue Anchor. Another pint of Weald for me here!
7/8
With three venues to go, it was now a long walk to the next pub - The Skimmington Castle, where I had a pint of Quest.
6/8
Now it was time to head to the “home” venue of the group - Hop Stop! Here I had Waypoint.
5/8
Then it was on to Pilgrim’s own pub - The Hatch. Again, a very good selection, but I decided to go for something unlikely found in the other pubs - a Belgian Dubbel! Bumped into Pilgrim’s Head Brewer John here too.
4/8
Next it was on to The Garibaldi, a lovely community pub around the corner. Quite a few Pilgrim options, but I went for Maine State, their New England IPA.
3/8
First up on the Sunday with the Hop Stop gang was The Plough in St John’s, Redhill, where two Pilgrim beers were on - Surrey, which I’d had twice before on the Trail (see above!) and Weald, so I had that!
2/8
Last week I did the Pilgrim Brewery Ale Trail, and it was great fun!
I started with a few on my own - The Cage, The Old Chestnut, and Home Cottage, then did the remaining 7 on one day with the guys from Hop Stop.
Here’s a thread 🧵

Looks interesting 🍻
Wish I’d had it on cask. Really enjoyed it.
Tonight’s cinema beer was @indierabble.bsky.social Elbow Geese. It’s everything a good Westie should be - bright, piney, bitter, plus a nice bit of orangey marmalade notes going on in there. Cracking!
Loved it. It should be a regular!
Great quote!
Ooh, that sounds good. Saw their video about it earlier.
This evening’s beers are two @thornbridge.bsky.social Union beers, collaborations with @oakhamales.bsky.social and Theakston. Both of them are just as good as you’d expect!
That was really good. I do love a Red IPA.
Following @thornbridge.bsky.social Jaipur on my visit to @thecolmoretap.bsky.social was a lovely Red IPA brewed with @womeninbeer.bsky.social and the sublime Market Porter. Also took a couple of bottles of Union beers away - the collabs with Theakstons and @oakhamales.bsky.social.
Productive visit!
I’m in Birmingham (another University visit with my daughter) and naturally I’ve found the time to pop in to @thecolmoretap.bsky.social for some @thornbridge.bsky.social greatness! There’s only ever one place to start - Jaipur!
It’s beer at the cinema time again, and I’ve brought along this brown ale from @sirencraftbrew.bsky.social (as well as appropriate glassware). It’s a gorgeous beer. I love Brown Ales and this one really ticks all the boxes.
Last night I took a little detour from my evening’s activities to visit The Jackalope. I had a lovely cask Dark Mild from @timothytaylors.bsky.social.
Last night I had a couple of fantastic @elusivebrewing.com beers, one of them a collaboration with @tomstapandbrew.bsky.social.
Nice quote!
The latest episode of Beer Prime is now available, featuring Rory and John from Pilgrim Brewery.

Well, I had to go to Hop Stop and give in to the hype of PuTTTY, the 10% TIPA version of @verdantbrew.bsky.social Putty. I’m not in to TIPAs, but did enjoy this.
Much more in my wheelhouse was the other beer I had, a West Coast DIPA from Norway’s Salikatt Brewery. Woah!! What a beer.
Chiswick? Yeah, many years ago.
Yesterday I picked these up from Clapton Craft. First, an awesome Westie from @trackbrewingco.bsky.social, following on from their recent great collabs with Canadian breweries. Then an interesting, and tasty Raspberry and Blackberry Pale from @queerbrewing.bsky.social collabing with Conjurer.
No worries. I didn’t think you were being judgmental anyway! It was definitely too sweet, though 🤣
