Along with everything else, there’s the massive failure of our educational system. While I’ve been aware of many of the broad strokes, Rose Horowitch maps out the crisis in terms of math illiteracy, grade inflation, and the results.
Last post of the day. Thanks to @jvl.bsky.social , I no longer feel quite the quandary when I want to unload on “The People”. There’s nuance to be enjoined, but he zeroes in on precisely what many of us react to in the apathy, if not willful ignorance many of our fellow citizens.
Thank you! I try to watch my urges to correct others, but attempt to rein in my own foibles. When I do offer correction, I also attempt to do so with wit and/or gentleness. Also, I’m fortunate that it seems fewer people know the term “wretched pedant”…

This comes as no surprise, but it’s annoying that corporate media doesn’t have the balls to report in this or hold the Regime’s feet to the fire.
Oh, I forgot. The corporate media are the Regime’s mouthpieces. (Yeah, media is plural; not gonna make it singular here…I am my own grammar police.)

I wasn’t blocked for something I posted. I was in the middle of reading an article. I can access the site on other browsers, so it might be specific to Safari on iOS (or even this phone). There’s some glitch there, because the IP address they have for me is wrong.
