American Family Children’s Hospital to expand PICU, add CICU To meet growing demand for care, American Family Children’s Hospital is expanding its Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and adding a Cardiac Intensive Care Unit.

We are expanding our PICU at American Family Children's Hospital! About 60% of our current PICU beds are filled by children receiving cardiac care. The expansion will include a dedicated cardiac intensive care unit to meet the increasing demand for highly specialized heart procedures and care.

Family of Madison school shooting survivor credits doctors, faith for son’s amazing recovery The family of a 14-year-old school shooting survivor thanks God every day that’s he’s alive, nearly three months after a student opened fire at Abundant Life Christian School.

Forty-six days after River was admitted to American Family Children’s Hospital, he went home with a hero’s sendoff from the 263 people who helped during his recovery.
