Langs With Laura

The panic I felt when I heard a song in a language I thought I was supposed to know, but wasn't understanding it was so real and strong.

Until I realized that it was in a different but related language so it was ok 😂
(Ex. Hearing a Slavic but not Russian language song)

I had a moment today where I was tutoring a student in Spanish. I really only know L.A Spanish but his Prof is teaching Spain Spanish. And at one point I just had to say, let me look it up because that is #notmydialect lol.

Luckily the student had learned LA Spanish before too.

I feel so smug:

I skipped my language lesson for today because I was behind on homework.
But then in that very class our professor had us watch a two hour movie completely in German.

It is not a German language class, it's a history class.

People always ask if I have a favorite language and I can honestly say that I don't.

But when I'm sick it is always Spanish, hands down!
