I meant irrelevant in the sense that he used to be a favourite of the left until he made that joke of a party that threw trans people under the bus. I haven't seen leftists talk about him for quite a while now.

The DemSoc claim that there is moral superiority to working within the electoral system and that the system is somehow legitimate is no different from the capitalist belief that property rights are legitimate and that there is inherent moral superiority to abiding by them.

Democratic socialism relies on the premise that the only way for socialists to gain influence is from within the system.

If America were a corporatocracy, those same demsocs would claim that the only way for socialists to gain influence is through buying enough shares.

The thing about advocating electoralism in the context of the US and calling yourself a "democratic" socialist is that it supports the narrative that the US is a democracy and that only by working within the system can you be democratic.

I have no idea who came up with the idea that humans are superior to other animals, but, all things considered, it was probably a human.

The farming of animals is chauvinistic. And any claim to the contrary will inherently also be chauvinistic as a result.

As long as you support the farming of animals, you will always be open-minded to the idea that sentient beings can be inherently inferior to you and can be slaughtered en masse for your own convenience and privilege.

No one should be forced to participate in the system.

Mandatory voting is inherently bad. Even if there's a tick-able box on the ballot that says "abstain".
