I think you could make an argument that Pokemon Gen 1 is the only entry in the series that excels as a true RPG. The friction of exploring the world is satisfying in a way that is rarely present in even the immediate follow-ups. HMs are vestigial after this game, no longer encouraging adventure.

GNOSIA (anime) - There are plenty of game to animation projects that have fallen on their face, but Gnosia was a lot of fun as a fan of the original work. The main cast are portrayed well and Yuri fills the role of the player character in a satisfying way. I'd still recommend playing the game first.
The important question: Will Capcom be brave enough to finally deliver the MILF protagonists?
I know the show does frame them as a nebulously mystical nature, but they were real enough to be taught skills and named by Shiro before they left them by the kids' account. The fact that they had enough of an existence for that, but they wouldn't either stay or bring them with them sticks with me.
Shiro and Aina leaving those kids to fend for themselves so they can establish their tradlife is probably the thing I think about most of all whenever 08th MS Team comes up.
