This librarian's 2024 #ReadingWrapUp. Glad that @thestorygraph.com makes getting reading analytics so easy!
(Also, manga was technically a tie between MY GIRLFRIEND'S CHILD & # DRCL: MIDNIGHT CHILDREN. Both are VERY worth your time!)

Exactly. We could do genAI in an ethical and responsible way...but that requires regulations. OpenAI wants to make lots of money at all costs. Any benefits anyone experiences are unintentional side effects. Most of us so-called anti-AI folks aren't actual anti, just pro-regulations.

Get link button? Always works, even if they updated the article or they're using materials from a previous year.
You can highlight & annotate the article, & if you log into your Google account inside Gale it saves your annotations.
And, of course, the citation tool!

Absolutely! It was mostly demo, so I don't have slides, but the biggest buy-in was the tools embedded into Gale.
When you open an article, you can change the language (MANY choices), activate text-to-speech, and adjust several readability features (like the font!)

Dark teal background with tan text. Title: Book review for The Fragrant Flower Blooms with Dignity, Volume 1. Released 2024 by Saka Mikami. It's like taking Kimi ni Todoke & crossing it with WINDBREAKER; a sweet, slow romance that reminds us not to judge others prematurely. 5 stars. 232 book read in 2024. Also includes the cover of the book: white background with a tall blond boy & short, black-haired girl in school uniforms
