Not super related but a fun fact is that the PKK as it exists today owes a lot to the DFLP. This is an excellent story about the entwinement of the two national struggles which defined the region in the 20th century.

One thing I'll say: as a journalist, you've probably undervalued your own skills because you're surrounded by people with similar skills. You're probably great at writing and digesting complex information, which many people are not!
Leaving journalism, going back to school, and starting a new career in a new field was really hard. But I'm grateful I did it. If you're a journalist thinking about a new career, I'd be happy to talk, break down my experiences for you.
