I had the pleasure of faithfully porting the sound design & music for Hohokum from ye olde .lua files to a lovely fresh Wwise project (so that it's future-proofed!) and there is SO much fantastic audio design and music going on in this game.
I did the sound design for this and I've just been playing it for the first time in... 8 years? And it holds up! And the game's great! Go play it. The music's also incredibly quirky & delightful & written by the musical wizard Grandmaster Gareth (RIP)

It happens in the film & TV world too. Oscar/BAFTA winning audio post houses sometimes take on short films for free to get their foot in the door with up & coming directors. It's pretty infuriating to be honest and does definitely undervalue the work, plus it's hard to compete with "free".
