Am sticking with my bet that the right is reading this wrong and that the majority of voters are not at all unhappy Starmer has upset Trump by holding back from a war whose purpose and end game no-one seems able to define.

Remember when Trump promised that India would stop buying Russian oil? Well it turns out that Trump's decision to bomb Iran has had the exact opposite effect, leading to a surge of Russian oil being sent to India. www.indiatoday.in/india/story/...

“Hanging on to President Trump’s latest words is not the special relationship” …a useful message there from Starmer for the BBC’s hyperbolic political reporting as well as for Badenoch.

Die Grünen in UK zeigen vor allem auch, dass die extreme Rechte nicht die populärste Partei bei jungen Wähler_innen sein muss.

Sie sind das Antidot zu Reform.

The King’s visit in America could be yet more damaging for the Royal Family. His own son’s war contribution insulted, our PM insulted. It might be wiser to cancel it.

This is important. Reform keep taking positions that are only supported by the 25% of the electorate they already have and in doing so are negatively polarising everyone else against them.

I wish some major media outlets would do broad reports on the impact of death threats on our politics, and on who's doing them (MAGA men mostly from what I can tell), and why law enforcement appears to be doing so little about them. They are such a big (submerged) part of our politics now.

Trump Opens the Pandora’s Box of Assassination Killing anyone without a trial, let alone a foreign leader, involves a moral choice.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's killing shatters “a precedent that had been sustained for decades by a mix of moral, political, and logistical concerns,” Tim Naftali argues:

To some extent, the Trump/MAGA camp seems to treat the UK and other European allies like internal politics - where Trump is commenting on Starmer not like an equal national leader, but like a state governor from an opposing party.

For now this is just one poll. But if this trend continues the current FPTP voting system makes no sense anymore.

If you add the SNP and Plaid Cymru to the mix we might end up with a completely random result at the next elections. Which will undermine trust in the U.K. democracy even further.

This will of course affect all of us. But unlike 2022, since then we personally transitioned to a heat pump and an EV, and I can't help but wonder that the direct economic effects on Europe would be smaller if we had been more forceful in the transition away from fossil fuels.

Denmark has *far* worse outcomes - economic, social and integration - than the UK.

Just a fantasyland for those who want an excuse for their own xenophobia and/or are incapable of doing the hard work of confronting the UK's real problems.
