I just started using it, and honestly it is a game changer for me. I'm AuDHD, so every day is a constant battle with my brain. There are a ton of accessibility features, whether they were intended as such or not. Great tool, even for those of us with a tech background.

We've got 3 tips for choosing a mic and setting up audio 🎙️

Relevant to the 'disabled people need to work' discussions:
A contact of mine applied for a job.
They asked for one small cost-free 'reasonable adjustment'.
The employer promptly told them they couldn't have this.
No discussion.

So here's an obscure reason I love Meld. I have extreme, unmedicated and uncontrolled #ADHD... Right? Well, when you open #MeldStudio it gives you a list of things not open that you have in your scenes. Bloody brilliant! The interface has so many accessibility features, and that's a big deal for me.

As a disabled person I am afraid that eugenics is going to be objectively and very literally the end of my rights and potentially my life.

All the while it is in the name of cutting cost by the chainsaw wielding… richest man in the world.

Assuming that I cannot be a terrible person because I'm autistic and therefore can't possibly know the difference between right from wrong is the most insulting and ableist view you could possibly have of me.

This... And the ableist way they infantilize autistic adults (hi, me) with that take makes me want to vomit. I cannot express the amount of rage I feel today.

This may be an "old woman yells at cloud" moment, but I genuinely do miss when a game just released fully and that was it. No extra DLC content, no micro transactions, etc. Just buying the game and you get the ENTIRE experience in box.

If you’re able to express an opinion, they say you’re not “really” autistic enough to know. If you can’t, you’re spoken for by parents, researchers, & bad actors (e.g. antivax). It’s no-win for us.

It isn't picky eating It isn't attention seeking It isn't 'bad parenting' It isn't a choice Please be kind this Christmas. If you will be seeing someone who struggles to eat, please be aware of the impact your words may have on them (and their parents/carers) For someone with ARFID or sensory issues around food, the festive season can be an extremely challenging time. Even food which would usually be a 'safe' food can be difficult to eat in a busy or unfamiliar environment. Your kindness and understanding could be the difference between a good or a bad day.

I definitely struggle with this. I think on some of the other social apps it has become so ingrained as a defense mechanism that it's difficult to shirk.

Blue Sky has such a safe feel so far, though, that it is giving me ample room to practice. I hope your experience has also been pleasant!

This is a very important distinction, and pushing others to mask or not mask can do a lot of harm. Also, it's important to learn the difference between supporting an Autistic person in managing traits and "pushing them to learn skills". The latter usually leads to meltdown / shutdown / burnout.

Understanding that not everyone has the skills or spoons to add an appropriate alt text for pic posts is also being reasonably accomodating.

Perhaps instead of scolding or making passive-aggressive skeets, provide some assistance by suggesting text for the photo in question. 💞🌸
