I finished the Dragon Quest 1 remake, it was nice. A very simple game that didn't need quite so much expansion, but it was a pleasant return to a favorite world. I'm taking an RPG break before diving into the remake of 2.

A 50 minute masterpiece.

Rewatching George Romero's The Amusement Park as a follow up to watching The Night of the Hunted.

My last two games had three selectable difficulties that completely changed enemy formations, which moves they could use, the length of status effects, a whole lot of stuff. In Walthros you could also check off more granular options on any difficulty.

I'm glad to hear that, I'm looking forward to trying the 7 remake!

"Remove some of the deadly spikes" is a nice easy mode accommodation in platformers, I always like that. I don't like "click this and the game runs at half speed." Which again, fine, have that as a cheat, but don't make that your easy mode change. Lazy.

I don't like it when a game offers two difficulty levels and they're "here's the regular game" and "mode where you're literally invincible." I'm not opposed to having that kind of mode available but an easier mode that still offers some kind of challenge is good to have.

An old stone building with wires going into it

A cool old building at the top. This is a hike that would be fairly easy in warmer weather, some parts were knee deep when we went off the trail. A good time.

I really had a low day, felt terrible outside of a couple small moments. And you know what? Watching this depressing movie made me feel peaceful.

Way sadder and more horrifying than I expected! Jean Rollin isn't for everyone but this one in particular really got under my skin.
Not to be confused with The Night of the Hunter, another 5/5.
