The Xmas stock was largely gone. I was looking for gift bags. Like many families, I’ll be celebrating over the course of a week because of travel schedules. I also detest the Hallmark holiday marketers have made out of Valentine’s Day. I also really miss the post Xmas sales. I left without buying.

Holiday shopping rant. Why do stores (Marshall’s I’m looking at you) switch out the holiday items so far before the current one? Marshall’s staff was replacing the Xmas signs with valentines stuff midday on the 24th.

You know what the funny part is, a single-payer system, free for the indigent, would likely cost everyone less money than what health care for the indigent cost now

The VA is a government funded heath care system. Akin to what single payer advocates want and is often touted as a potential model. Greedy insurance companies (and their lobbyists) don’t like that.

Also in the news: Blue Cross Blue Shield in 4 states is saying they won’t cover full anesthesia for surgeries. We pay more for healthcare than other developed countries and get $hit. This is the outcome.
