Israeli strike at Gaza's Nasser Hospital kills Hamas official and aide Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry said medical staff had been injured and some of the hospital destroyed.

Geneva Convention IV Art. 18.III "Civilian hospitals organized to give care to the wounded and sick, the infirm and maternity cases, may in no circumstances be the object of attack, but shall at all times be respected and protected by the Parties to the conflict."

My favorite Barkley stat is that more people have visited the Moon (24) than finished five laps and touched the yellow gate (20). With due apologies to humanity, I'm kinda cheering for the course this year 😈 #bm100

In just a year of trail running, I've crushed some goals and had my fair share of humbling moments against the true elites. But these athletes? They're in a league of their own. Cheering loud for everyone starting #BM100! 🙌

The greatest wealth heist in US history is unfolding. Musk is set to become the first trillionaire. Bankrolled by taxpayers, mass layoffs, and gutted programs for the vulnerable. Meanwhile, they raise the debt ceiling and hand the rich massive tax breaks, leaving the public to pay for their empire

That is a very fair point. On the other hand, I think it is also important to distinguish between "perceived" stability and "actual" stability. Perceived will allow you to take a step back and be strategic, whereas we all know there are inherent risks to organisations' stability, as you point to.

Very short answer to a complex question: what is your take on it? Agreed that NGOs will always pursue maximum funding, but - anecdotally - when funding and existence is jeopardised, they tend to search broader for funding, incl. in fringe areas of their mission.

❓What I am left wondering - and may be hard to answer: in a field of fierce competition and stretched budgets, does the improved financial sustainability also ensure more effective resource allocation by empowering NGOs to pursue funding strategically, rather than chasing everything?

This report is - rightfully - making rounds on my LinkedIn feed: We all heard about MacKenzie Scott's unrestricted funding, but what impact has it had? Not surprising, it has been overwhelmingly positive!

All that to say: I am excited about the new job, education in emergencies will always hold a special place in my heart, and I am happy to answer questions about what is is like working in a large philanthropic foundation. Naturally, my Bsky feed will be different from my Twitter 😉

It has been a year of unlearning old work habits, personal growth, and the major privilege to have time for deep curiosity, but also a year of growing concern about how basic human decency and support for those left furthest behind is fading.

In other news (since my Twitter/X hiatus): I celebrated a year with the Novo Nordisk Foundation last month! 🎉 No longer working directly with education and humanitarian programmes, but instead focused on how to best drive philanthropic project management at scale.
