I also don’t subscribe to the idea that a QB capped at QB20 is worth a first. Sure, QB20 at a cheap price is nice, but this is the one position Im drafting for what I’m getting beyond their rookie deal

A lot of people keep saying that about the injuries, which is totally fair, but I don’t think his film even before that looks like a first round player. Feet all over the place, too often kills YAC opps with his placement, up and down with how he sees the blitz

I agree with the traits — they’re like B/B- level to me which is totally workable. But imo that’s not good enough for a player his size unless he had some other exceptional skill or was very polished, and I don’t think he’s got either of those things

Yeah that definitely makes a lot of sense. He's got the size and strength and explosiveness they'd want

I like him! Nothing special and there's a couple times where he's a little too upright/stiff at the top of press reps but he does a lot well and he's explosive

He feels to me like a third round player who is benefiting from a void at QB2 in this class and the narrative (assumption?) that the Rams specifically are interested in him because of Stafford’s age and the extra first

I also keep seeing processing / decision making as his sell and I’m just not sure I get that, at least to the degree that would warrant a first round pick.

I’ve seen at least half of Ty Simpson’s season now via watching defensive prospects and I’m struggling to see a first round QB here.

His best three throws a game are sick but the rest feels way too scattered and unreliable.

cut split so he knows speed out might be coming. triggers well off the QB's eyes. efficient and explosive flip of the hips to get downhill. plays the ball over the inside shoulder to shut the window.

I think this is fair too! Im not necessarily saying McDermott didn’t deserve to be moved on from — Im saying Im not sure all the changes they made will actually produce better results

I think it worked for me because it was the spiritual successor I always wanted for New Vegas and so, even if imperfect, I could love it. very excited to hear the new one has a lot more to it though, Im for sure gonna have to dig in

hell yeah. How does it compare to the first one in terms of scale? I loved OW1 but my biggest complaint was it just felt small and limited (makes sense tbf — smaller company starting a new product)

I think it can happen one of these years. Maybe if his best pass catcher doesnt go down it even happens last year. The volume does hurt him now but I also think the offense could shift a little as Love continues to mature and LaFleur’s trust in him grows

four new LBs and safeties. at least one of each HAS to be a vet — idc if that means overpaying for Devin Lloyd or whatever. get anyone in the building who has A) done this before and B) can tackle

also completely different scenarios in that McCarthy would be allowed to start for a playoff caliber team going into the year whereas AR is just a late round flier who wont see the field (on purpose anyway)

basically how I see it too. and even the Bears with Caleb, it’s not like they used the ammo to move up — Carolina was just so bad the pick turned into the top pick

Jags scare me a little because 1) no first round pick and 2) they are most fragile at the “preventative” positions (OL / CB) — which is to say things have the potential to spiral quickly if those don’t get solved

I still think he can be what he was billed as in the draft — a quality No.2 with some explosiveness outside the numbers

think we’ve seen time and time again it takes WRs a bit of time to really get going in that offense, I’m willing to remain optimistic there

They should be. Maybe McCarthy can turn it around further down the line but he’s been about as bad as you can be through two years considering the team he’s been on
