Layoffs rise to recession-like levels through October, new report says Layoffs are rising to recession-like levels, with U.S. employers announcing 1.1 million job cuts so far this year, according to a report from Challenger, Gray & Christmas.

Donald Trump is destroying the economy. But at least he has a shiny new ballroom paid for by all the rich people he’s making richer with his kleptocracy.

Trump’s ingenious plan to make things more affordable for us is to slap tariffs on a large percentage of things we buy each month, while deporting a big chunk of the labor pool that produces our food supply.

We really don’t appreciate this man enough.

It didn't matter.

Let his victory in the face of Big Money serve as a reminder that people have the power.

The magistrate judge scolded them for an "indict first, investigate second" posture and ordered them to turn over reams of material β€” including all grand jury info β€” to Comey's team

A lot of the people you see arguing against food assistance are actually on food assistance. They work at Walmart or a convenience store and think they are deserving, but others are not.

This is projection and the way that the 1% keep poor people pitted against poor people so they don’t look up.

A bearded man standing in front of the Tybee Island Lighthouse

I visited the Tybee Island Lighthouse. Originally built in 1736, it is one of seven remaining colonial era lighthouses in the US. It has survived fires, a Civil War, hurricanes, and even an earthquake. Not a bad place to be compelled to visit on a gray, rainy day.

Walmart and McDonald’s are among the top employers of workers who rely on food stamps.

McDonald's CEO raked in $18.2M last year β€” over 1,000x the company's median employee pay.

Walmart's CEO pocketed $27.4M β€” 930x the company's median employee pay.

See the problem?
