We'll recognise a Palestine state ... unless Israel maintains a ceasefire. Quite the powerful principled stand against genocide and for human rights.
Centrism is quite a drug.

palestinian self-determination is the inalienable right of the palestinian people and should not be conditional on whether israel do or do not decide to finally abide by some actual rules

‘In recent months, higher education in the US has faced a withering assault from a national government committed to reversing generations of halting progress towards racial equality. “Yale and Slavery” seems now to have arrived at the end of a moment.’

I pledge that I will not provide any service to Columbia University. I will not speak at conferences held at or organized by Columbia. I will not publish with Columbia publications or provide peer reviews for them. I will not provide outside tenure evaluations for Columbia departments. I will not contribute in any way to the institution until everyone who is responsible for this week’s shameful decision has resigned, retired, or been fired, and until Columbia repudiates their catastrophic choice.
I wonder if the Columbia leadership realizes (or cares) how much blowback there might be from *within* the academy.

🚨Shocking scenes from Gaza: children ravaged by famine and malnutrition — thin bodies, eyes searching for life, and at any moment, they may be added to the list of the dead.
Baby Judy Al-Arouri is wasting away from hunger.
She’s not even six months old.
A little child receives medical treatment after being inured in an air strike that targeted an apartment in Al Yarmouk neighborhood in Gaza City.

British surgeon Nick Maynard explains how Israeli soldiers target Palestinian children at food distribution sites in Gaza, changing the location of gunshot wounds at times, such as aiming for the head one day, the chest the next, followed by the legs or genitals on other days. 🤬🤬🤬

A photo of me holding a placard stating: Palestine Action Are Protesters Not Terrorists
If the police arrest me for this, it's a direct attack on the expression of opinion: ie on free speech. But the Terrorism Act is so madly oppressive and loosely framed that I have no idea which side of it I'm on. And I suspect it's the same for them.

The High Court judgement regarding Palestine Action's proscription and the enforcement of the order today from is the most extreme application of terrorism legislation we've yet seen in this country. It's so extreme, in fact, that it's causing the law itself to become openly incoherent. Thread🧵🔽
