I think the game is okay for what it is - the first in a series that was originally released on the SNES and remade for the PSP. But I really do not ever need to play it again. 5/10, sorry not sorry [6/6]

and VERY scarcely placed save points in dungeons. I cannot even tell you how many times one of the weird difficulty-spiked random enemies knocked out my party and I had to replay a whole hour of game. WHY. This is a remaster. [5/x]

(yes, worse than Xenoblade 2), the combat is boring at best and frustrating at worst. The writing is kind of stilted. The underlying story is not bad, the execution is though. But the absolute WORST part is that you can only save on the world map [4/x]

Liked the characters themselves, the Private Actions helped make them feel like people and illustrated the bond of the party. The look is quite nostalgic and cute.

The bad: The world map is empty, the encounter-rate too high, the tutorials are almost non-existent [3/x]

and that was quite frustrating at times.

The good: A good soundtrack, even if only few tracks. Love the fact that your choices do matter and affect the characters you can recruit, and when you can recruit them, which will in turn affect the story. [2/x]

Star Ocean First Departure R

A game that is showing its age, despite it already being a remaster of a remake of a SNES classic.
I am sure that at its time, it must have been really good for what was possible on those consoles. But I have to review my own experience in 2025 [1/x]

Now try working in a job where the entire company thinks AI is the future to the point they're developing their own AI (for the very specific tasks at the workplace) & expect you to use it.

When I asked who is responsible if we use the AI & it turns out wrong the answer was "the employee ofc" lmao

though after how exhausting work has been for me these past few weeks.

Graphics are really pleasing and man if it doesn't have the best Disney song that did not come out of Disney for a theme song.

8/10, would recommend (even though it is NOT a JRPG)

than usual with Nintendo games. The best part about this game was that, whilst easy, it kept rewarding you constantly. Whenever you wanted to put it down you'd go "Oh, just one more banana" and suddenly 2 hours have passed. It being easy also made it quite relaxing to play [2/3]

Donkey Kong Bananza

Finished this last Friday - excluding the Post Game Content, though I am not sure if I wanna do that.

What I did play was fun though - entertaining gameplay, and adorable character in Pauline and a heartwarming dynamic with DK. More story and lore [1/3]

Genuine question: Why wait for the PS6 in order to drop the Switch 1 version? The Switch 2 is out, if it works on there it works on PS5...so should be fine? (Of course it would work even BETTER on PS6, but if you're still gonna have the Switch 2 "bottleneck" either way, just make it current gen)

The art is beautiful as per usual with Vanilla Ware and the music, though not mind blowing whatsoever, is at least very serviceable.

I had a lot of fun all in all, because I was in the mood for a strategy game. Started ro drag towards the end (took me 156 h) tho. 7.5/10. (3/3)

Interesting battle mechanic, very unique, even in comparison to other strategy games. Pretty basic and predictable story. I saw every "twist" coming from a mile away, except for maybe one. Some plotthreads were never quite resolved, unfortunately. (2/3)

Unicorn Overlord

Some interesting characters, but that's something you will only ever find out if you watch the rapport conversations. Within the main story, most characters remain very superficial. (1/3)

So...what are the chances of them backpedaling and changing it to a physical cartridge once they realize the GKC doesn't sell, you reckon?And is that even realistic considering production time frames? Can I still hope or is hope dead? 🥲

Honestly I wouldn't be too shocked if this happened (not the jumping them god forbid, the Xanadu thing). For one we at least already have key art and an official announcement for the Tokyo Xanadu thing, for Kai 2 all we have is a "we started working on it".

I'd be a lil surprised. But not shocked.

Other than that I quite enjoyed the game. Music good, as usual, some really nice & impactful character moments too. Liked it a lot. Did not love it, but did like it a lot.

I do hear this also gets better in retrospect once you play Horizon. We will see. For now, 7.5/10. [3/3]

structure of the game - except Act 3 and the Märchen Garten. Seriously, why does the Märchen Garten even exist and how did they manage to make it so bad? I can't believe I preferred the Reverie Corridor, even THOUGH the combat system back then was slower. [2/3]

The Legend of Heroes: Trails through Daybreak II

Considering how many people in the Trails community dislike this game, I expected something real bad. Instead, I still got something quite decent. Some moments were genuinely shocking to me and I liked the overall [1/3]

important angle in it's conclusion. I'm being vague to avoid spoilers but the gist is that the ending prevented it from being a straight 8.5 or even 9/10 for me. This way it's "just" a 8/10.

It is still an amazing game & I can't believe a new, independent studio did this. [2/2]

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

10/10 soundtrack, 9/10 story, 8/10 battle system, 10/10 style and graphics. But unfortunately 7/10 ending.

You're not wrong, which is why I said Shizuna is definitely the worse offender (lack of a better term). I'm just saying the explanation as to why Musse can do magic is also lacking, so it's not a new problem, just one that has gotten worse.

To be fair this reminds me of Musse being able to cast (albeit basic) magic & helping Rose/Vita/Emma with spells cause Vita taught her a bit how to do it once.
