Other sires I picked as “Best Buys at Stud” for my # 1 choice BEFORE they mated a single mare were Uncle Mo, Mitole, Cairo Prince and Flintshire. All have been successful to a degree from Outstanding to Above Average.

Only knock on Gun Runner is his boys seem to get scratched a lot because of illness. Otherwise a super sire.

Another of my “Best Buys at Stud” was Twirling Candy, another son of Candy Ride. While he was “only” an honorable mention, he is # 1 Turf Track in North America for 2024 and a top 10 Sire overall.

Gun Runner is currently the # 1 sure in US. When he went to stud at $75,000 I said he was fairly priced. I also said he would be the best son of sire of sires Candy Ride. At $250,000 he is top priced sire in US - tied with a couple others at $250k. Did I ever tell you I love sons of Candy Ride?
