She's a tégénaire, which I believe translates to house spider in english. Scary yet completely harmless and quite shy.
The Head Nurse of Azure Glen Asylum's closed ward has her own way of performing emergency takedowns.
Oddly enough, some patients only act up only when it's her specifically on guard duty.

Esme isn't just a self-made woman, she's self-changed too!
Currently the last answer I've drawn for that series. I assume I'll go back to it after I'm done with the current chapter of the comic (so chapter 3) and expand it to other characters too.
-making Esme miserable, don't worry, that's not what this chapter (or the comic as a whole) is about.
Most of what Lud is saying at this point is just her hamming it up. Esme isn't *really* going to end up in 24/7 iso, they're still going to follow the same seminar as everyone else.
They just have beef with each other and some history to work out.
If you're worried about Lud abusing her power and-
I don't usually chime in to discuss what people see in the comic but I thought I should mention that Esmeralda is absolutely consenting to this. It's just a seminar and she knows she can quit whenever she wants. She's putting up with it because she did push for both of them to participate.
