Another series I'd recommend is The Power Fantasy from Image comics. Keiron Gillen is an amazing writer and the art is fantastic. Think X-Men meets Watchmen.

I will say absolute Wonder Woman is a great series out of them followed by martian manhunter. Really great takes on the characters.
Yeah I know what you mean. I was a marvel guy but then when a yearly event happened and the comic I was reading had the hero take a complete character arc in 10 different event issues and nothing makes sense.
