Quite apart from the misinterpreted and poorly presented science that will continue to get some of his readers killed or disabled, I’d like to point out another glaring factual error.

People that wear masks did not and do not refuse to enter society. Society refuses to accept mask wearers.

The Pandemic Has Been a Portal (for a few of us) It's true that most people keep choosing "normalcy". But the COVID conscious community is showing us a radical new way forward, that centers care

In 2020, Arundhati Roy wrote a gorgeous, prescient essay called “The Pandemic is a Portal”. In this piece, I discuss who actually walked through it: the COVID conscious community, and why I’m proud to be a part of it.

I was on line for the women’s bathroom at a downtown theater, directly behind Annette Benning. And we were waiting waiting waiting, with of course no line for the men’s. So we started hatching a half assed plot to takeover the men’s. It was very charming!

This would save me so much time doing the math… genius idea! The $600k is about $20M in today’s dollars. 🤯

There aren’t 34 million “able bodied” Americans on Medicaid

There’s no such things as the “genuinely disabled”

It’s ableist propaganda designed to get you to see us fakers, scammers or useless eaters

We aren’t the enemy. We aren’t stealing your tax dollars

The billionaires are. Pay attention.

Ex-farm worker here.

We need to talk about this whole "But a living wage for farm workers would spike the cost of food!" thing.

Not true AT ALL.

Y'all don't understand how fast experienced farm workers are.

The average tomato picker pulls 650lbs per hour.

At $20/hr, that's $0.03/lb for labor.

Happening now in Camarillo, protesters are desperately facing off against ICE to try to defend America’s farm workers.

really does feel like if we can cyberbully the House into passing changes on the shit they openly hate and get it kicked back upstairs again there’s a chance it might not survive the Senate a second time

if you live in a GOP state it’s time to ruin a House rep’s life

They are sending roving bands of masked thugs with the stated goal of kidnapping 20 million brown people to transport them to any country they can pay to take them. All this has been cleared by The Stolen Court.

This is not deportation.

This is ethnic cleansing.

This story explains a LOT of things: ChatGPT appears to be rooting on sociopathic mental illness by validating every delusion of grandeur.

It also explains, in part, the hype cycle around AI: rich people, addicted to praise, invented a Compliment Machine.

Normalize discussion of the COVID integrity debt that the next generation of public health and infection control professionals will spend their entire careers struggling to pay off.

they don't want us to "stay healthy."

they want to "make america healthy again" by culling those they deem unhealthy.

that's why the cuts. if you die of covid or cancer or measles it's because you deserve it.

because you're not "fit" and don't deserve to survive.

that's it. that's the bit.

Disability is not a moral failing. It’s not a punishment. It’s not karma.

It’s part of the human experience. Our bodies are frail, and given enough time most people will experience disability.

The idea that we’re lazy, choosing not to “try hard” or want to be sick is a fallacy born out of ableism

179 experts. 28 countries. 1 message:

Long COVID is real, multi-systemic, and devastating. It affects over 400 million people. And we're not prepared.

New global consensus just dropped.

Begging folks to stop referring to the pandemic in the past tense.

It’s still “during COVID”. The pandemic isn’t over just because you want it to be.

We have no sterilizing vaccine. No treatment or cure for Long Covid. People are still dying & becoming disabled every day because we refuse to adapt

If you accept that non-citizens have no right to due process, you are accepting that citizens have no right to due process. All the government has to do is claim that you are not a citizen; without due process you have no chance to prove the contrary.

It only ever sucks to hear shit like this. Even if you know it’s them. Even if you know it’s ableism. It still feels horrible and I’m so sorry for this. I get “call me when you feel better” so often and then they disappear. In my head I’m yelling after them, “I’m never getting betterrrrrrr…” Sigh.

In addition to the environmental and IP issues, it’s also just *inaccurate* 60% of the time.

Conservative’s boycott of Target made them hide Pride products and eventually drop their DEI. The progressive boycott has further hurt their bottom line and Costco is thriving as a result. It’s understood that there are people who can’t afford to participate. Doesn’t make the whole thing useless.

It’s really weird and kind of terrifying living here and watching so many people just keep norm-ing it up. Like nothing’s happening, there’s nothing they can do, so might as well go to brunch. No one cares about much of anything much less anyone.

I loved Silo. She’s fantastic and the world building is superb. They created so many paths to go down and potential developments to explore, both going forward and flashing back. Can’t wait to see season 2. I could not get into Foundation and haven’t tried Severance yet.

“…watching the world ignore the disaster you live inside” is the most accurate thing I’ve read about long covid in a long time. Nearing five years myself, April 2020.

And that the LA mayor’s office literally reached out to MaskBlocLA for help. An amazing testament to community care and organizing, and a gross failure of governance.

Thank you for all you give voice to, with both reason and compassion, and for always including long Covid in the mix.

When the “freedom” crowd yell about Covid mitigations - they’re quick to say it’s their right to take whatever risks they want.

When something is airborne & harms others - it’s not that simple.

Take smoking. You have the legal right to smoke even though it’s bad for you 🧵

When you’re chronically ill - one of the hardest things to do is ask for help.

We know our bodies best - and by the time we’re asking for help we’ve exhausted ALL available options.

We aren’t looking for your random suggestions about how we should do yoga or touch grass 🧵
