We're making a game where you play a courier rider in 13th century Mongolia
No combat, just you, the horse(s) you've tamed, bred and trained and the vast wilderness.
Would you play this?
It does seem unfair that you can't guarantee that people will read the same meaning from your words as you intended them to carry. It does feel like everything would be easier if they did.
That doesn't make it possible to actually do that though.
people notice this because they do have media literacy
not because they lack it
they disagree with it because it is abhorrent
not because they don't understand it
You know you’re a 90s kid if you remember when the U.S. government would at least make up a fake reason to attack the Middle East
people love to say "you should read conservative opinion pieces too" and every conservative opinion piece is like "corporations should have the right to vote but minorities shouldn't. source: I made it up"
The literal worst version of it has to exist first if you're ever going to get anywhere, so you might as well embarrass yourself by writing it
"If casting a vote starts to feel more like participating in a lottery than making a positive and principled decision, then voters are going to become ever more frustrated." First Past the Post can't handle multi-party politics. www.instituteforgovernment.org.uk/comment/gort...

Maybe part of the way we reach freedom lies in Purim's reminder that like Esther, we have to speak out for the freedom and safety of others. Like Mordechai, we have to stand up for what's right, and refuse to bow to those who claim power unjustly...

What if we think about Lilith and Vashti and Esther and Eve in terms of archetypes and what that can illuminate for us for making change:
Hooo boy. There we go. It was about domestic surveillance after all.
By offering nothing more than 'not Corbyn' Starmer has made sure that Labour is no longer the default party for leftists
The BBC and the BAFTAs just stage-managed the racial abuse of Michael B. Jordan and Delroy Lindo, whilst abandoning John Davidson
They tried to smack a lot of things out of me as a child. I still have all the things, including PDA.
All it did was teach me that many of the adults around me couldn't be trusted.

it also surprises people how many 'dead' digital archives there are (historical and other), with links that lead to broken pages. it costs money to keep a database online, after all, and often funding runs out.

Until there are casualties at the highest levels of power... Themselves or their nearest and dearest...
Until the mounting costs of disability and chronic health become unable to be conveniently dismissed??
