A special happy Women’s History Month to Speaker Joseline Peña-Melnyk, who made history just months ago as the first Afro-Latina Speaker for Maryland House of Delegates.

Some guys in uniform just sign a baseball when they're asked to sign a baseball.
But if a kid asks Aaron Boone to sign a baseball, he gets a whole conversation..:
About baseball!

In ‘76, my Dad sat next to a bird Colonel from Wright-Pat who assured him the end of Vietnam would not change the way the Pentagon did things:
“We plan a party, we buy stuff for a party, we dress for a party … then we go find a party”
I don't want to be this way but we really need to stop counting on the government to protect us from the government. "The military will intervene if checks and balances are illegally unraveled" was a lie they told us as children. Just like when we asked in Sunday school "who invented God?"

View of Lake Union coming down from Capitol Hill into South Lake Union.
A new pair of Brooks Cascadia Trail runners, tread side up. They’re pristine. Next to them are the Brooks Trail Runners I bought last year. There is no tread on some of the heel and they’re flat on the sole.

Today’s walk: North along Lake Washington, up to Capitol Hill, down to South Lake Union, and around Lake Union. Stopped by the Brooks store in Fremont to get this year’s fresh pair of Cascadia trail runners. 45,472 steps, 23.6 miles.
A beautiful day for horrible news.
Fascinating real life stories in this book.
Published in 1976; the author collected the voices of the women of an isolated village in the Cambridgeshire Fens.
They speak of things which had changed little over centuries.
Yet in the 50yrs since, the world has changed beyond recognition.
I am humbled.
Truly.
He makes fluff before the war, but then becomes a film maker for the U.S. Army. He does stuff like filming the liberation of the Dachau death camp.
He returns and reels off "A Place in the Sun," "Shane," and "Giant." They are his "American trilogy" and three huge films.
The corruption is so deep now, Molly, that nothing is exceptional anymore...

I mentioned earlier that today is the first day of Meteorological Spring rather than the Vernal variety, which arrives with the equinox on March 20th. Why, you might ask? I found the answer here. Hope you find it as fascinating as me.

I am closely monitoring the ongoing military operations in Iran. International military actions have a direct and profound impact on Maryland’s families and communities.
I served in Afghanistan and I’ve seen who pays the price when Washington rushes into conflict.
I feel so bad for this guy’s social media intern today.
(Not, to be clear, for the Congressman himself.)
