Chapter Five When Praetor Kihaia t’Raedheol sat down for her evening glass of Mel’Shat at her estate overlooking the winedark waters of the Apnex sea that spring evening in late 2367 she probably could feel...

*Ahem*

So we’re above them then (I only really know about Transylvanian/PLC history in the context of the deluge)

The list:
1: The Russian empire
2: The Soviet Union
3: The tsardom of Russia
4: The Principality of Muscovy

History teaching in Sweden today is of course better at not glorifying the military expansionism of the period but they still tend to magnify the suffering of the Swedish people. Which yeah, taxes and conscription sucks but are they really the real victims here?

Are we above or below the principality of Transylvania?

I mean pdx is a Swedish company and the PLC has a very clear role in Swedish historiography, though mainly as “those people we gave a jolly good kicking, oh what a lark” to a degree that is literally proverbial.

There is something patently absurd in all the moaning about EU unity as a contrast to America when we are now in week 5 of a US government shutdown that increasingly looks permanent

I mean, Yasser Arafat was also a Nobel Laureate. So was Aung san Suu Kyi, who went on to run cover for Myanmar's violence against the Rohingya. Hell, in '73 they gave the prize to Henry Kissinger.

So, you know, it's a little hit-or-miss.

It’s the regional trend. The North Koreans are already getting prepared for a double whammy of “what if Kim, but girlboss?”

A child using a vastly oversized envelope, with the logo for an electricity company, as a costume. You can only see her face which is painted white to match the colour of the envelope.

Translation: "Eight-year-old Edda Svanlund Sekander dresses up as a hefty electric bill for Halloween, something she believes will scare the grown-ups as she goes trick-or-treating."

Påminner om kollegan som jobbade i kundtjänsten på riksbanken när sedelbytet skedde och blev uppringd av en väldigt stressad person som undrade när sista dagen att byta ut gamla mot nya sedlar var. Numret gick till Kumla…

This tank never left New Zealand during the war.

Also the Japanese never tried to invade New Zealand during the war.

Coincidence? I think not.

(In actually I think it’s because the company is from a place called Gävle with Gevalia being a latinised name for the town, hence they wanted to add the umlauts to further appeal to their hometowns name)

The weird hybrid they show on rue coffee thus looks like a particularly cursed idea for a Stockholm Ä.

Who am I do deny such an audience?

The letter e is pronounced /eː/ with a somewhat nasally sound while ä is pronounced /ɛː/ usually as a long vowel. However the Stockholm dialect is infamous for substituting the /ɛː/ sound for an e sound, essentially dropping one of the letters.
